Yes, we hap...Kitsap, I almost missed your comment! Yes, we happened to see this pickup last weekend, when the business was closed, and we both agreed we'd like to have it. I did my research, and found the price was spot on with Kelly Blue Book prices, and got an idea what ours was worth. Monday, Mr' G drove by and came home disappointed, as he thought it was gone. Wednesday morning we decided to look again, and they had just moved it to another area of the lot. They are the same company we bought the Malibu from last year, and the salesman actually remembered our names when he came out to the lot! They were easy to deal with, gave us what we wanted as a trade in, and it was easy as pie....except the part where I had to write the check. I left out a zero and darned near got a REALLY good buy! We had spent $750 for a complete tune-up just over a year ago, and she was starting to miss again, so we figured we'd be smart to trade her in while she was still running. She's been over a lot of rough off road country in the past ten years.

********
Thanks, Kelly. We were actually hoping we wouldn't have to travel so much, but it didn't happen :-(

********
Thanks, Sarada.

********
Barbie, the sale fell through. In fact, the day we bought the "new" truck we got a call from the realtor. The same woman who had tried to buy it before (she bailed out after a home inspection that found "the furnace filter is too hard to remove") now wanted to buy it again.....for $15,000 less than her original offer and with all furniture included. Of course, we rejected that offer, as the first time we had agreed on a price (sans furnishings) that put us well below the break even point, we certainly weren't going to drop it even farther! So now we're back to...if we can't sell it, we'll have to use it.Annie*s Grannyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04772261218172078099noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5597627580631284872.post-6660056113587856322011-06-17T08:19:37.304-07:002011-06-17T08:19:37.304-07:00Wait a minute! It's so hard to give up a faithful vehicle (we TRIED a couple years ago, but just couldn't do it!), but the new baby is sharp!
Ours hit 205,000 miles now -and here we were worried at 138K. And just over 5000 miles per year average mileage (he traded it in for a new Corvette). We couldn't pass it up. It also will get better gas mileage than the Ranger, even with the larger engine. More than double what they would have given us for the Chrysler (2 years newer) when we traded for the Malibu last year. Being the Off Road 4-WD, it held it's value much better.
