It sure doesn't make much compost. Of course, it's 20 years old and the top no longer aligns with the bottom, so it's probably time to retire it anyway!Annie*s Grannyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04772261218172078099noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5597627580631284872.post-72481686473848390272009-01-01T05:54:00.000-08:002009-01-01T05:54:00.000-08:00Lots of good stuff to look forward to. The black will attract lots of heat for the roots.

Happy New Year.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5597627580631284872.post-57231625938890298232008-12-31T14:23:00.000-08:002008-12-31T14:23:00.000-08:00Sinfonian; Yes, I though I had three varieties, b...Sinfonian; Yes, I though I had three varieties, but it may have only been two and the pollinator died. That's why I'll probably buy two more, because I'd hate to end up with all three being the same variety.

Celebrity have been the only variety I've been able to grow in my area that didn't suffer from blight. Those and Pixie, which are no longer available. I'm hoping if I switch to drip irrigation for the tomatoes that will take care of the problem.

Happy New Year to you and yours.Annie*s Grannyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04772261218172078099noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5597627580631284872.post-57441957542492091042008-12-31T14:19:00.000-08:002008-12-31T14:19:00.000-08:00John; OK, I'll do that.John; OK, I'll do that.Annie*s Grannyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04772261218172078099noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5597627580631284872.post-85336563890835720202008-12-31T14:18:00.000-08:002008-12-31T14:18:00.000-08:00EG: Thanks! I also believe that you're underestimating the savings from growing your own produce, but conservative accounting is good, hehe.

I'm sure you know to buy two or more different varieties of blueberries because they need cross polination to produce a decent crop.

A drip system is a great idea.

As I said, great resolutions. I should start thinking about that. Good idea.

Lastly, I wanted to let you know that Celebrity tomatoes are owned by Monsanto. If you don't care about that, then go ahead and grow them. I posted Territorial's list of Seminis seeds on my blog if you're interested.

Happy New Year!Sinfonianhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03973076975622726383noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5597627580631284872.post-74205369168507392862008-12-31T12:36:00.000-08:002008-12-31T12:36:00.000-08:00Granny, why not post this on the SFG forum. So what I really need is a scale in the garden and a small table to wash and cut things on.

Good luck on your resolutions and Happy New Year.Daphne Gouldhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17305049560953735881noreply@blogger.com
