And the Chinese cabbage that has suddenly bolted and will not get eaten.

Yes, those onions are excellent on the grill. They are not a storage onion, they keep for just a few weeks, so we eat a LOT of grilled, sauteed and French fried onions, as well as raw slices on our burgers and chopped raw in just about everything else, in a very short time! My kids love them too, so I give a lot of them away.Annie*s Grannyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04772261218172078099noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5597627580631284872.post-53776003353138046142012-05-22T08:44:57.744-07:002012-05-22T08:44:57.744-07:00Kitsap, patience has never been one of my virtues!...Kitsap, patience has never been one of my virtues! It definitely needs to fatten up a bit, but with a dozen plants growing I can sneak a few stalks without feeling too guilty. It won't be long before I'm doing the same with the potatoes :-)

Those three onions happened to be going to seed. It always happens with a few, and usually they don't form a bulb at that point so I just go ahead and pull them. Two of these may have bulbed up, but one definitely wasn't going to, and it didn't want to come out of the ground. I finally had to dig it out, after breaking off the top from tugging on it, and it had an enormous root system.Annie*s Grannyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04772261218172078099noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5597627580631284872.post-58242193924554156972012-05-21T23:02:23.038-07:002012-05-21T23:02:23.038-07:00My hens would have loved your beet greens.
