Johnny's was the only catalog that actually gave the sizes of the tops, and I got home too late to order from them.

Mr. Granny got the whole day's picking of berries on his ice cream last night. My turn next.

********
Amy, beautiful but not yet bountiful!

********
Kelly, I'm just happy to have something besides salad from the garden ;-)

********
Welcome to my blog, 20minuteJan! Good luck on the carrots. Some of mine were a bit spotty in their germination this year. I don't know if it was the seed or the weather, but I suspect it was the seed.Annie*s Grannyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04772261218172078099noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5597627580631284872.post-84584933773189341752010-06-07T06:16:08.729-07:002010-06-07T06:16:08.729-07:00What a lovely harvest! I'm excited to see how they come out, but I'm not sure how optimistic to be. We have had a lot of rain in Michigan and a fair amount of warm weather, so I'm expecting that our raspberries to be big and juicy. Sheesh, you d...Ribbit, well duh...plant something! Sheesh, you don't want bare earth, do you? You could plant some bush beans, or maybe another planting of carrots. Or, and this is something I like to do, dig a trench and do trench composting to make the soil better for next fall. Just dump in your scraps and cover with a bit of soil. Keep it up until the entire trench is filled. Problem with this is the dogs just love to dig the garbage back up. Of course, you can run the garbage through the blender first, then it decomposes faster and the dogs can't scatter it. It's a good thing.Annie*s Grannyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04772261218172078099noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5597627580631284872.post-19615592606114759222010-06-06T21:35:29.559-07:002010-06-06T21:35:29.559-07:00Yummy berries! I'll do a fall planting, which will give me much more as it shouldn't have any waste due to leaf miners. I'll be happy when I get enough raspberries for more than one serving. I'm tired of having to share my half cup of berries with Mr. Granny ;-)Annie*s Grannyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04772261218172078099noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5597627580631284872.post-65998978090778261962010-06-06T20:44:24.937-07:002010-06-06T20:44:24.937-07:00The carrots, raspberries, and spinach all look won...The carrots, raspberries, and spinach all look wonderful! We just finished the last of the spring spinach this past week and I was able to blanche and freeze four pounds prior to the end of the spring season crop. It's so hard for the little ones to wait.

********
Roasted Garlicious, YUM is right! I did three rows down a strip of toilet tissue, offsetting the center row....first and last rows marked at even numbers (2", 4", 6", etc) and center row marked at odd numbers (1", 3", 5", etc.) That really seems to be the optimum spacing.Annie*s Grannyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04772261218172078099noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5597627580631284872.post-90514027641180561872010-06-06T16:42:07.526-07:002010-06-06T16:42:07.526-07:00Hey Gran, how far apart do you space your carrots?...Hey Gran, how far apart do you space your carrots?
