That way, we're eating our new potatoes in June & July, and buying good potatoes in August & September. They grow good corn too, but their price goes up each year. That might be a priority in my garden next year (if I don't have to plant 40 tomatoes).

********
Ali, I don't remember the name of the rose. I bought it over twenty years ago, along with another that is a bright red-orange that I remember had a Spanish name (maybe Olé grandiflora?), a deep pink with lovely long stems and my yellow one, which I do remember being an Arlene Francis. Arlene was never a robust rose, so I moved her out to the corner of the garden and basically ignored her. Last year I set the compost barrel next to her, which must have made her very happy. She's larger and healthier looking this year than she's been in the past twenty years!Annie*s Grannyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04772261218172078099noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5597627580631284872.post-8461281101132224692010-06-18T19:35:53.626-07:002010-06-18T19:35:53.626-07:00The flowers are lovely. That photo of the Drunken Woman bed is absolutely amazing, should be seed catalog cover photo! I checked into my potatoes, and they are actually nowhere near harvesting time, I am thankful since it's 100 heat index out there!
