October 5, 2011 - Slow Down, People!

Slow down, guys! I'm exactly 43 blogs behind in my reading. Well, actually only 42 since Robin scolded me for no recent comments! Not only have I been terribly busy, readying everything for our impending migration to Arizona, I've also been stuck on one particular blog for the past two evenings. I'm enjoying Two Men and a Little Farm so much, I've begun from their beginning, and I'm working my way up to the present. 1st Man has officially joined the rest of you in my love...love...love!

I did manage to get my closet cleaned out today. I packed everything that's going south, even my overnight bag for the hotel, and took two large garbage bags of clothing and purses to Goodwill. I now have one neat closet, and another that we won't talk about (Mr. Granny's, of course).

Ten days from right now, we'll be enjoying an evening in Jackpot, Nevada. Eleven days from right now, we should be walking in the door of home #2. Time is flying, and there's still so much to do!

  1. Awww, thanks for the shout out! You are great! I'm glad to hear of someone enjoying the process. I literally started the bog when we were first told about buying the house and land. Now granted, I let a few months go by without updating but I started in earnest at the beginning of the year and try to update several times a day, most every day. It truly will be a journey through the process (and we have TONS to go).

Your blog is an inspiration to us and I am still learning from you and everyone else. Thanks again for the kind words.

  2. 1st Man, you have inspired me to begin another blog, covering the renovations I did on our Arizona mobile home. It will be a while before I begin publishing it, as it will be my winter project while I have no garden about which to blog. I've put a few pictures in this blog, but nothing that shows the extent I went to from the time we purchased it in 2004.

  3. Granny, it sounds like you need to slow down a bit! It will all get done and you will be on your way to Arizona.

  5. I will have to check that blog out. As if I did not have enough blogs that I follow! LOL!

I helped you out by going quiet all last week due to some traveling I was doing - but now that I am back there is so much to do (and blog about) in the garden with the fall season that I am afraid I just cannot slow down for you. ;)

  6. You too? LOL I took last weekend "off" so I could get garden chores caught up and Monday morning tuned into my reader to see twice as many posts as usual LOL!

  7. Well, I, for one, am taking it personally. Not that I've posted anything for you to comment on, but I'll ignore that fact and just go with the offended part. ;)

    I love you, Granny!

  8. Robin, I'll be on my way, but I doubt I'll get it done! It seems as though everything has gone haywire on me this week....now I find the post office already started forwarding our mail, even though it wasn't supposed to start until the 12th :-( I had to go down there this morning and try to get that straightened out, and hope we get this week's mail before the 12th!

Me too, Kelly. It will give me something to do all winter. Assuming I have an internet connection.

Awww, Kitsap, have a heart! It's hard for me to type comments while I'm eating, and that's the only time I've been able to get to them lately!

    ********
Erin, I'm glad I'm not alone!

    I love you too, Ribbit!

  9. Did you change your mind about selling your place in Arizona Granny?

  10. I am overwhelmed with just one house... I cannot imagine dealing with two!

The blogs will still be here when things settle down for you... unless the 42 others bloggers band together to have a mutiny against your new blogger 'mistress' that is keeping all of your attention!

  11. Spiderjohn, it's still on the market. We're hoping it will sell while we're down there, but it looks as though we'll have to drop the price even further and take a bit of a loss on it. It's a bit disheartening to have put so much work into it and not be compensated for any of it. For its updates and so much property (6/10 acre) we have a very reasonable price on it now. Its only drawback is the salvage yard across the street to the west. The county has looked the other way while that place has deteriorated into something worse than the city dump. I may be sitting on the steps of the county inspector this winter, something must be done to force the cleanup!

Prairie Cat, I did finally get caught up with reading last night, but not with many comments. In a couple of weeks from now I'll have plenty of time....these two weeks before moving time are always frantic. It is hard to keep two homes maintained, and the older I get, the harder it gets. Not so much the maintaining, but the worrying about whichever house is vacant at the time.

  12. You telling us to slow down ? You need to slow down and now on your way to getting another garden started!
Why won't you tell me what pills your using for the energy..

  13. Ginny, it looks like garlic will be the only thing started in my garden this fall. I was going to plant more spinach, but remembered I'd tossed out the old seeds because of poor germination. Now there aren't any seeds left in the stores!

    Let's see....I take C, D3, E and calcium. I think that's all ;-)

  14. Granny, I wish I had more time to spend reading everyones blog but I could spend all day here. I don't have very many followers so I do respond to the few comments I get. Hope you get everything ready to leave. Where will I find you blogging this winter?

  15. Wilderness, if I decide to blog about my renovation and attempts to sell our winter property, I'll post a link on this blog. This blog won't be going away until I do (permanently)! ;-)
