The mess is getting deep, real early in the game.
One of the three game viewing areas.
And the mess goes on....and on and on! Too bad I didn't get pictures when Scott dropped a can of Coke and it spilled all over the floor and under the refrigerator. Then, just as he got that wiped up, he turned around and kicked the dog's dish and sent dog food flying all through the kitchen and down the hallway.
Classy "beverage center", huh?
Yes, this was my little section in the kitchen :-(
We kept the "take and bake" pizzas coming, and it didn't take long to empty the trays.
Dominos delivered the hot wings.
Amy said they were very, very hot wings.
They were very sticky, saucy wings!
John arrived late, but still got some food and drink.
I think somebody needed a nap.
Our family football pool squares filled up pretty well. I had the win almost assured....until Baltimore made that final play. John, who had entered the pool mid-game (we almost didn't let him in, because the Ravens were so far ahead at the time), walked away with the $95 win for score and a winning team side bet. He wasn't even here to collect, as he'd left for home when he thought I had won the entire pot!
I think everyone had a good time, and there wasn't a lot of cleanup other than throwing away the plates, napkins, boxes and bags. Well, I do think I'd better move the refrigerator out today, just to make sure there's no more sticky Coke under it.
Sorry to hear you are sick. Get better. So many illnesses have been going around.
ReplyDeleteYes, Daphne, this one is a lingerer. I didn't get a flu shot this year, either.
DeleteOn the east coast the game went a lot later but we stayed up to view it all. After all living outside of Baltimore we have to be Ravens fans and they didn't disappoint us either. It was a great game!
ReplyDeleteMarcia, I had all my bets on the Ravens. Not that I'm a fan, I can take football or leave it, but the puppies on Jimmy Fallon, the manatees on some other show and a couple of other animal things I happened to see on TV....every one, except some big ugly birds, picked Baltimore! I approached it scientifically, LOL!
DeleteIs your house cold? Everyone is wearing coats. Hope you feel better, Granny. Looks like a fun time.
ReplyDeleteHaha, Langela! I don't think 72F is cold. No, I just make all the smokers go outside to the patio, where it was in the low 40s. Grandson Kevin doesn't smoke, but he's just too lazy to take his off :-)
DeleteI'm still feeling lousy, now Mr. Granny is getting it.
Good for you on the smoking outside.
DeleteSorry to hear you're still not feeling better. The only thing worse than feeling badly is having a husband who feels badly, too.
We don't smoke, and I don't want my house all stunk up!
DeleteMr. Granny is now getting sicker, while I seem to be getting a little better. If I could just hook a drainage hose onto my nose, I'd have it made. I've convinced myself that coughing is good exercise ;-)
Looks like everyone had a good time. Feel better soon! Lots of vitamin C!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Lana. I'm about to overdose on vitamins, cough medicine and hot tea! I'm thinking two days in bed is sounding good right now.
Deleteawesome!
ReplyDeleteI have a pretty awesome family, Jody. Well, most of the time ;-)
DeleteLooks like a fun day! Nice to be surrounded by loved ones!
ReplyDeleteIt was fun, David, but everyone seems to disappear at cleanup time!
DeleteGlad you had a full house and some fun with everyone! I would be okay with all the messes except that soda under the fridge - I might have had to clear the room while I "had a moment" LOL
ReplyDeleteErin, I think, by the time the soda went under the fridge, I was already in the middle of "a moment". LOL, I lived through it!
DeleteIam not sure where you live. We have a septic tank and empty it every 2 yrs. we put a riser on it. If we hook up to sewer it will cost $30,000.00 And the bill will be for example water bill $100 sewers would be $200 so my bill comes every two months. Our income would just scrap the surface to stretch till the 30th if we had sewers.
ReplyDeleteOur septic tank was 40 years old and failing. The last time we had it pumped, they discovered it was collapsing. We had already paid for the sewer when they put it down our street 11 years ago (we had to pay for it, it was not an option), and it cost us about $7000 at that time. If we had connected at that time, it would have been another $1200. We got by for 11 years with only two pump outs (under $600), because we were only in the house six months of the year. By waiting, it cost us $1500 to do the final connection, and we had 11 years of no monthly sewer charges, so we're still way ahead. I'm not looking forward to the monthly sewer charges, but it had to happen eventually.
