June 24, 2013 - How Amusing!

The temperature has dropped from 73F at noon, down to 64F.  It's cloudy, drizzly and dreary, and I'm bored.  However, it doesn't take a lot to amuse me these days.  I absolutely love this commercial:

LOL, it almost makes me want to switch to GEICO!

  3. Hee hee, oh I agree with you. These ads are so creative. My favourite is the Dikembe Motombu (sp?) GEICO ad. My family's going about our business around this place and all of the sudden someone says, "Not in my house.". Especially handy phrase when pulling dandelions and buttercup in the gardens. :)

Hoping your plants don't mind the temperature drop,
    Fondly,
    Whit

    1. Whit, I doubt they'll mind the temperature drop as much as the cloudburst we're having at the moment. The poor plants around the patio are looking drowned, let's hope the main garden can handle all the rain. My neighbor has her sprinklers going :-(

    2. Oh dear! Is your neighbour from Utah? After many trips through that state, it seemed like the only time when people there turn on their sprinklers was in a good downpour. :). Coming from AZ, i'd never seen such a thing! With the expected heat wave this weekend, I can't imagine how the plants are going to react. When you pick things from the garden, maybe they will be steamed and ready to eat? What can you do? We've had so much rain here in Enumclaw that our cherries are splitting on the trees. Crows can have 'em. Good luck with the wild weather!

    3. Actually, they are from Northern Idaho, where they probably didn't even know what an automatic sprinkling system was! The have it set to water every single day, which is ridiculous. Even here with our heat and sandy desert soil, we really don't need to water more often than every three days.

It was already 72F at 7 this morning. Now they are predicting 112 for next Tuesday!

  4. Sure wish the temperature would drop a little here. Still hot and humid and a storm came through last night. Knocked over my blackberry bushes! Nancy

    1. Nancy, it stopped raining, the sun came out, and the temperature shot up. It got hot and steamy out there, and the forecast is for it to get up into the 90s by Friday, and 100-plus for the next week! I'll soon be wishing for those below normal temperatures.

  5. I wish it we could send our heat your way and cool off a little. It reached the nineties today and with the heat and humidity it felt like it was in the 100s.

    1. I think you'll be getting your wish soon, Vanessa. It's supposed to get up to 100 by Saturday!

  6. I like that commercial too. There are so many funny ones out.It always amazes me, though, that when they have the show listing the funniest commercials, that none of them are funny. Why do they pass over the funny ones? I've always thought the same thing with America's Funniest Home videos. The finalists are rarely ones I even chuckled at. Eh, what do I know.

Our weather is really wet. Last year we had a drought and this year it's flash flooding every day. When the sun does come out, it's so hot and muggy and windy that I don't feel much like being outside. I go out anyway. I just don't feel like it. :)

    1. That's the way it is for me, too. I'm so tired of "funny" videos of people falling down or getting hit in the crotch! My other current favorite is the man who is using his cell phone connection to learn how to swaddle the baby while mommy is gone. Cutest baby, and yes, we mothers know they poop as soon as they're all dressed up (or swaddled).

Cool and pouring rain here right now, and the forecast is for 106F on Monday!

    2. 106F?? You moved to Phoenix recently? I'm happy to be at 9000Ft where is only gets to 80ish.

    1. I love camels! We used to have one up the road from us a few years ago. I was probably the only person ever to carry a snapshot of him in my wallet, along with photos of the grandchildren. I always stopped to visit him on my way to the grocery store, he was so sweet and friendly! Never once even tried to spit at me.
