Megan, Ginny, Sue, Debiclegg & Robin, now I don't have to paint all of the boxes, just the ones that had weathered. It's close enough to the color of the others to not be noticeably different!
Debiclegg, I wouldn't have painted mine to begin with, except we used some old deck boards that had been previously painted. You know me, I had to have them all matching ;-)
Oh, yeah...MUCH better. Don't tell my daughter I said this, but her husband just painted their kitchen the other color. I am not a fan. This just looks so much richer !
They look good, and I so can relate to the paint purchase debacle.... My first try at the taupe walls in kitchen looked more like black raspberry ice cream. Not a good look in drywall.
Rachel, it was almost a non-paint day. I went to Home Depot, spent a good ten minutes trying to find someone who worked in the paint dept., and was just ready to give up and walk out when the kid evidently came back from his lunch break.
Ali, I just about came unglued when my daughter painted her kitchen what looked to be orange, but it actually turned out a very pretty terra cotta that looked great with her southwest theme. I'm such a wuss, I paint everything in pastel colors...off white, beige, light sage green, pale yellow. I have always preferred to use brighter accent colors in small amounts. My daughter wants me to paint my bedroom brown, but that's so not me!
I paint the inside of my house beige. I know boring, but the walls to me are just backdrops to what is on them or in the room. I don't like them to stand out. However one bathroom is slowly being painted in an underwater scene. Not beige. Very dark. I'm still debating whether to put a shark under the toilet though. Some friends say no as it would be inhibiting and others say it would be great. I do want people to be able to use the bathroom.
Very, very nice! I've got a long 'to paint/to stain' list -- the deck, porch steps, upstairs hallway from Dec '09, the garage, parts of the barn and probably the cold frame boxes... once I get those assembled! It always seems like a lot of work at the time, but it's so worth it!
Looks great! That's definitely a lot of work!
ReplyDeleteYes, if it had to be painted that's a good color..
ReplyDeleteOh yea.....much much better!
ReplyDeleteI know it SHOULDN'T matter, but it does. It would have driven me batty looking at that other color.
Granny,
ReplyDeleteI like the second color. I wonder what my husband would say if I decide to paint my boxes?
They look great Granny....much much better!! Hey I just sent you an e-mail

ReplyDeleteThanks, Alison, Kris, Dianefaith & Meems. I'll sleep better tonight ;-) I hope it doesn't rain tomorrow, so I can finish them all.
ReplyDeleteOh yes, much better. I hope your paint purchase day today was uneventful.

ReplyDeleteI agree, much better! :)
ReplyDeleteStick a mast in the middle and that would make a passable boat!
ReplyDeleteIn fact, knock it all down and put a boat there. A boat with a hole in it shouldn't cost too much!
