May you all have a wonderful Christmas!
Mr. H bought me an early present, an external hard drive, so I'm going to back up everything and pull the plug on this laptop.....it's time to reformat and reinstall everything, as the old workhorse is running slower and slower, and I'm beginning to think there are more than a few drivers that are corrupt. It's not a job I'm looking forward to. Keep your fingers crossed that all goes well!
Merry Christmas, Granny. Thank you so much for the lovely package.ReplyDelete
Good thinking, Mr. H! lol Merry Christmas, AG :)ReplyDelete
Merry Christmas to you AG and Mr. H. I hope the laptop operation goes smoothly for you.ReplyDelete
Ribbit, you're so welcome! I was beginning to think you'd never get it :-(ReplyDelete
Kalena Michele, Merry Christmas...I'm back!
Kitsap, it went well, and it's working soooo much better! Of course, there are still tons of updates to do and files to copy over, but my internet connections are working now...must have had a corrupted driver.
Good luck! I recently got my husband's old computer when he got a new one. Redoing a computer is a real PITA, but nice afterward.ReplyDelete
A very Merry Christmas to you and Mr. H and all the lettuces!!ReplyDelete
Oooooh. What a thoughtful present! Good luck with the reformat. Hope all goes well.ReplyDelete
Merry Christmas to you!!
Merry Christmas to you all!ReplyDelete
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!ReplyDelete
Merry Good Luck Christmas, Granny. Enjoy your new toy.ReplyDelete
Good luck with the reformatting. I used to do that all the time and it works great. Now that I have this stupid vista thing it doesn't allow me to reformat, drives me nuts! Happy Holidays Granny!ReplyDelete
Daphne, Sue, Rachel, Erin, Liisa, Nell Jean & Dan....ReplyDelete
Merry Christmas! The reformatting went fine. This is the third time on this particular computer, so it really doesn't bother me to do it. However, the backup software didn't perform as expected, and I lost a few files. My address book is nowhere to be found, and my "important" email is gone. At least I didn't lose my photos and music, and the computer is running much more smoothly!
Merry Christmas Granny :-) What an awesome Christmas present! I have one and I love it - it's perfect to keep all my important "stuff" backed up on.ReplyDelete
Merry Christmas Gran! You're definitely much more technically savvy than I am....it doesn't sound like fun!ReplyDelete
I hope you and Mr. H have a great day! I'm sure your phone will be ringing off the hook!
Judy, I wish I'd not bought the one with backup software, as it lost some of my stuff! I just wanted to use it as an extra hard drive to hold music, photos, etc. to transfer between laptop and desktop computers. Now that I'm reformatted, I'll have to play around with it.ReplyDelete
Thomas, it's not difficult, just time consuming to have to reinstall so many programs and do so many MS updates.
We called all the kids last night, so today should be pretty quiet.
Merry Christmas to you, Mr. H, and the four footed children. Were they naughty or nice this year?ReplyDelete
(Good luck with the technical stuff, I can barely spell it, never mind do it!!)
Kelly, the babies were very nice, they usually are. They got a special treat, dinner with us!ReplyDelete
