July 19, 2011 - Is There Anything Better....

......than strawberry shortcake?

YES!

Licking the whipped topping container clean!

A proper licking always begins at the rim of the container.

Then go in deep for the good stuff.

Come up for breath and take another rim shot. Ignore the glob of topping on your nose.

Get down and dirty.

Tip it on its side, maybe the good stuff will flow toward your tongue.

Don't let it get away.....lick it into a corner!

Oh-oh, somebody needs a shampoo!

*No animals were fattened in the container licking. It was *LITE* whipped topping.

  2. Holly, she thought it was very yummy. Being my little fatty dog, she doesn't get too many treats like that.

rmgales, that's Annie, the girl dog. She definitely enjoyed it, and I enjoyed watching her enjoy it!

  3. Reminds me of my Harry lab with the ice cream tub

  4. Captain Shagrat, I think most dogs like a little ice cream or whipped cream on their noses once in a while :-) A special treat for special canines.

  5. Around our house, there wouldn't BE any left for the dog. My husband is the official cleaner-upper of all things sweet. You've definately got a "Lucky Dog"!

  6. Too cute! I love those dogs. Should have let Cookie get into the action.

  12. It looks like you entertained Annie very well. Now you need Otto to come over and clean Annie.

  13. Sue, Mr. Granny is that way about savory foods, not so much with sweets. Unless it's donuts or maple bars.

Ribbit, Cookie is getting so darned mean, he doesn't get to interact with anyone much. He's starting to bite when we get near, even to feed him. He's just turning into a mean, cantankerous old man. Oh, wait....that's Mr. Granny! ;-)

    ********
Robin, she's such a little sweetie, she deserves a special treat once in a while. Besides, it's fun to watch as her little brain works, and she eventually realizes she can either put her foot on the dish to hold it still, or she can scoot it into a corner. She's definitely got the brains in the family.

    ********
Kitsap, she loved it when I took a warm, wet washrag and wiped her head off. She'll probably expect me to do it after every meal now ;-)

    ********
Barbie, Otto got....nothing. He usually gets more food treats than Annie though, because he isn't overweight. Poor little Annie gains a pound every time she even looks at people food.

    ********
Kelli, they don't care what it's in, whipped cream is worth the risk!

    ********
Now, Erin, what makes you think my dogs are spoiled? :-D

    ********
Ginny, that dog would lick the entire house clean if I'd let her!

    ********
Daphne, he was in watching TV with Mr. Granny. If he'd known there was whipped cream being served, I'm sure he'd have been right there helping her. Up to and including the head cleaning!

  14. Thanks for taking the time to leave a comment on the Harry lab blog and hearing about the much loved Vern. Have you ever posted a pic of him?

  15. Captain Shagrat, the only photo I have of him on my computer was taken when he about nine years old, in 1995. He passed away about three years after this was taken. It's not very good, we call it the "mean Vern" picture because of the pet eyes from the flash. The baby is the granddaughter that just turned 17 years old today!
