The tote might come in handy. The iPod lanyard only fits generation one iPods, and I don't own one. I have absolutely no use for the numeric keypad, as the numbers at the top of my laptop keyboard serve me just fine. I have no granddaughters at the Barbie age, but that can be saved or donated to toys for Tots. Five desk calendars that have less than four months to be used..... they can be reversed and re-glued for one-thousand-eight-hundred-twenty-five shopping list/scratch pad pages!
Annie and Otto weren't impressed. Otto just ignored the crap, and Annie rolled her eyes. Annie rolls her eyes at everything! Well, she doesn't roll her eyes at dinner or treats...you can probably tell that by looking at her.
All in all, the WOOT! BOC experience was fun and well worth the $3.21 it cost me. I'll definitely try for the next one that comes up.
Well at least the Fact or Crap can give you some good laughs, no?
ReplyDeleteOr at least help when you take a crap. Back in the old days style!
Ha! Have a good weekend Granny!
Well....poop. I had high hopes, too, but it was fun to play along.
ReplyDeleteI actually bought myself a shopping list that was magnetic so I could put it on the fridge. The caption at the top says, "Make yourself at home. Feel free to clean the house and pay some bills." Though it ought to say something about weeding the garden. I hope you have fun with your new shopping list pages.
ReplyDeleteI've always been curious about what they include in those bags. Thanks for revealing the contents!
ReplyDeleteI also have to tell you that 3-4 days is too long to go without a Granny post! I keep looking for your blog to pop up to the top of my sidebar (as mine auto-resorts according to new posts), but this week, you kept falling farther down the list. It was nice to see you up top again, although I think you just got pushed down a level by Daphne. :-)
Apple Pie Gal, thanks for the suggestion....I'll go put one of those things in the bathroom right now! I'll read it first, then save it for an emergency ;-)

Erin, stop laughing at me! Stop it right now! Hey, it took a pair of nippers and about ten minutes to turn that iPod Nano lanyard into one that works great with my Creative Zen Nano! Very comfortable, and great sound, it made time fly in the garden today. A while back I re-discovered an old love from the 80s, so I loaded my mp3 player with all the Robbie Dupree songs I could find, and rocked out in the bean patch :-)

Ribbit, it was fun! I hope I get lucky and get in on the next BOC.
Awww, I was hoping that you would get a bag of 10 ipod nanos!
ReplyDeleteDaphne, I have one of those, too. Mine isn't quite as funny, it just says "Le List", but what can you expect from dollar store stuff.

Thyme2, I think this must have been just about the most disappointing BOCs ever. Usually the stuff is quite random, and there are some really nice surprises, but this time everyone got basically the same stuff. It was a tossup whether one would receive the tote bag or the EZ shopper bag. I really wanted the EZ shopper bag that clips onto your shopping cart and holds 40 pounds. I didn't see very many surprises...one got a Shark Professional tank type vacuum, one got a really nice (discontinued) mp3 player that was valued at $95. There were a couple of GPS's, and a couple of D-Link N routers. But probably 99% of them were similar to what I received. There's a message board that's kind of fun to read at http://www.woot.com/Forums/ViewPost.aspx?PostID=4103651&PageIndex=1&ReplyCount=2976
I haven't been blogging, because it's been raining. And I've been too busy reading that WOOT! message board, LOL!
I've also been busy cleaning cupboards, finding extra shelf space for all the canned goods that were stored under the bed.

Kimmi, I'd have been happy with just one! Even a Gilmour yard sprinkler would have been nice!
Thyme2, I meant to add....I'd expect that from Daphne. She's a real pushy broad, ya know.
ReplyDelete;-)
9 items for 3 bucks. Quantity over quality. I work with that one all the time. (And don't forget the big dose of fun)
ReplyDeleteCheryl, actually, even though the calendars only have a few months left on them, they retail for $5.00-$16.96 each on Amazon, the iPod lanyard/ear buds sell for $13, the numeric keypad is on sale for $8.18 (was $19.99), the Barbie Scratch and Design sells for $4.29. So yes, I got my money's worth!
ReplyDeleteEven better, you got your fun, and we got a good laugh reading about it.
ReplyDeleteAnd hey, I'll send you three bucks for the numeric keypad, plus postage.
I think Dan could use it at work.
Ali, send me your address, and it's yours for the postage...forget about the $3. See the product at:

My email addy is in my complete profile.
Interesting! It must have cost them more then 3 bucks to ship it to you.
ReplyDeleteDan, WOOT! charges just $5 for shipping, whether something weighs 5 ounces, 5 pounds or 500 pounds. I had free shipping, due to a $5 email "gift" from them. Normally a BOC costs $8. Now that Amazon.com bought them out, they also charge tax in some states. That's why it cost me $3.21.
ReplyDeleteLOL-I LOVED your idea for the scratch pad! And yes, it IS a bag of crap, but you certainly "found the pony"!!
ReplyDeleteSue, when given lemons and all that! I hope I can get in on the next BOC, but some people have tried for years before "scoring". I think I had beginner's luck....or unluck, LOL!
ReplyDeleteLOL, that is definitely a bag of crap.
