Granny's grinning like a Cheshire Cat.
Mr. Granny isn't as grumpy as he looks, he was enjoying the day with family. Otto's waiting for the fried chicken.
The grandchildren (and one great-grandchild).

Great-grandson, Remington (Remi).

Remi and Alicyn enjoy a day in the kiddie pool.
The teenagers enjoy a day roughhousing with each other, and Alicyn joins in.
Sierra, Kevin and Alicia, in a rare quiet moment.
The end of a fun filled day. BUT......
There were still fireworks over the river.
Some were not impressed.
You have a wonderful family! Glad you were able to spend time together.
ReplyDeleteFantastic pictures! You're a rockstar to say the least. Good to see pictures of Amy after hearing so much about her. She's a beautiful woman.
ReplyDeleteSo that's the infinitely helpful John! Remi is a cutie pie. Looks like it was a great 4th indeed.
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderfully rare post, Granny, and a treat! Not a veggie or plant in sight. You have a lovely family. The little one's are such cuties.
ReplyDeleteThanks for posting your family pics! You have a nice large family, must be fun to see them all at once. :-)
ReplyDeleteBeautiful family. So nice of you to introduce all of them to us. Looks like a great 4th.
ReplyDeleteHappy 4th! Remington - what a great name.
ReplyDeleteBoy I hope to have such a nice family when I grow up. ;>
ReplyDeleteBeautiful family. Glad you had them all together to enjoy. :) Love the BUT picture!
ReplyDelete~~Lori
Lynda, we do get together about once a month (birthdays and holidays), but Independence Day is our big get together every year, with too much food, too much drink, fireworks until 11 PM, then more food, with everyone leaving around midnight.

Ribbit, Amy always reads the comments, you'll give her a big head. She also blackmails me, as she has my password and can publish to my blog. She threatens to put the picture of me and Mr. Granny being silly, with our fingers up our noses, LOL! She'd do something like that, too!
********
Nartaya, that's my John. I'm waiting for him to get here to cut and nail up the fascia boards today. Next I need all new faucets in my bathroom....I can always find something to keep him busy ;-)
********
Alison, look closely....you can see the garden in the background in some of the pictures. Daughter Amy made fun of me as we were looking at all 116 pictures that were taken (aren't you glad I didn't put them all on my blog!). Almost every one, rather than comment on the subject of the photo, I'd say something like "The grass looks nice" or "Those tomato plants are looking really good" LOL!
********
Random, I'm lucky they all live close and visit often. They just don't always come all at once.
********
Johanna, thank you. We all had a great time. No fights, no boo-boos!
********
Matron, especially with his last name. Remington Ripley.
Daphne, you'd better hope they cook as well as mine do, too. You can't imagine how much food we had! I have chicken to put in the freezer for probably 10 meals for us, and we're spending today munching on leftover macaroni salad. My youngest son made it, and I swear there was enough to feed the whole town! Shannon did the desserts, and they were fantastic (and fattening, but that's another story).

Lori, it should have been a BUTT picture, LOL!
How nice to have your family together for the holiday. Thanks for sharing them with us! Love the But pic!
ReplyDeleteRobin, I'm happy to share with dear friends.
ReplyDeleteNothing like a good time with family! With all the cooking and just good fun..I can see the chicken juice running down Bryan's fingers :o) Shayna is a pretty girl.
ReplyDeleteNice to get a good look at you and Mr. Granny :o)
You must be a very proud grandma. You have a beautiful family.
ReplyDeleteGinny, that chicken juice will be runnin' down my chin for quite a few meals. I had made great big pulled pork barbecue sandwiches, too. So much food, but the pork went over better than the chicken!

Thank you, Jody. I kinda like them ;-)
Thanks for sharing you beautiful family! Looks a grand day was had by all!
ReplyDeleteYou're welcome, David! We had a wonderful time. I'm tired ;-)
ReplyDeleteGrowing up with 4 other siblings, I miss the large family get togethers. Unfortunately, nowadays we don't get to see each other too often. You must be so proud Gran! Having everyone under one roof must have been really fun. Hopefully the cleanup wasn't too heavy.
ReplyDeleteBTW - did you make that fried chicken???! I am a fried chicken ADDICT!
I have dreams of getting my bunch together like that. We don't really have room for them, though here. . . should have thought about that and bought a bigger home place!
ReplyDeleteThey're really lovely. Thanks for sharing.
Well, Thomas, I'd like to say I slaved all day over a hot stove, frying up all that chicken, but I'm a modern granny....I ordered 50 pieces, already cooked, from Albertsons. They cook it much better than I do, LOL! I did, however, cook two big pork roasts and then make a crockpot full of pulled pork in barbecue sauce, and from scratch baked beans to serve 18 people. My kids all brought stuff, too. Shannon did some killer desserts, Scott made a huge macaroni salad, Amy brought a gigantic bag of tortilla chips and salsa, a platter of deviled eggs and a fruit bowl of watermelon and cantaloupe. John brought two huge hors d'oeuvre trays full of meats, cheeses, veggies and crackers. We had plenty to eat, that's for sure!
ReplyDeleteStefaneener, we do most everything outside. The dining room table and kitchen counter are set up buffet style inside, but the snacks are on the patio table, the drinks in coolers on the patio. It's every man (or child) for himself.
ReplyDeleteYou have a great family. Must be in the genes!
ReplyDeleteSo, did YOU get in the kiddie pool?
Thank you for sharing your family photos. You all look like such a great bunch that it brings tears to the eyes. Glad you had a good Fourth! Now, I'm going to go back through and see them all again.
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful family you have Gran! You are blessed to have them all near you and glad you enjoyed the day with everyone!
ReplyDeleteHow wonderful to be able to celebrate with family. many blessing to you and family.
ReplyDeleteSue, I'm definitely a bathtub person. I never did like my body being in cold water, and it was really cold. Remington didn't mind at all....once we caught him standing in the cooler full of ice!

Thank you, Dianefaith, Erin and Sharon!
glorious indeed! what a blessed bunch to have a granny like you!=)
ReplyDeleteMy son is a pretty good cook. He isn't a chef, but he loves to play with food like I do.
ReplyDeleteKelli, what a blessed granny I am to have a bunch like them!
ReplyDeleteDaphne, all of my kids are good cooks. The boys are quite exceptional for guys.
ReplyDeleteGreat looking family granny. Looks like a wonderful day.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Wilderness. It was a good day...and evening.
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful family! Glad you had a food, fun, and drink filled 4th.
ReplyDeleteYou have a beautiful family, AG! :) YAY!
ReplyDeleteKelly and Kalena Michele, thank you! LOL, as I look at that photo of me, I should have done a bit of Photoshopping on it. Honestly, those are shadows from the fiberglass patio roof....I'm not quite that blotchy!!
