May 7, 2011 - Mother's Day Happiness

What a lovely day! All of my children (and grandchildren and great grandchild) spent the day with me. The boys, John and Scott, bought the groceries, and John did all of the cooking. We had barbecued ribs, cheeseburgers and hotdogs. I picked spinach and lettuce from the garden for a big green salad, Amy brought potato salad, macaroni salad and a fruit platter. There was beer with my home canned tomato juice, wine and soft drinks, and milk for the little ones.

Thank you for a wonderful Mother's Day, Amy, Bryan, Alicia, Alicyn, Scott, Kris, Kevin, John, Carol, Shannon, Shayna, Sierra, Ethan, Remington, Eric, Brad & Kaylee!

The flowers are lovely. Thank you John and Amy.

I'll always have a hummingbird hovering near my patio, thanks to Scott.

I cherish that little plaster hand print, just as I cherish my daughter Shannon.

It was truly a happy Mother's Day at Granny's house.

  4. What a wonderful Mother's Day. All my mothers live across the country (one in Colorado - Mom, and one in Kansas - my MIL). I always send them gifts. My mom got freshly picked organic vegetables overnighted to her. Not mine though - from California. My mom loves that gift and asked me to send it to her every year. She is a practical person just like me. My MIL has always gotten flowers or plants in the past, but I just couldn't do it this year. I was looking at the crappy inartistic flower balls that they all have online. So I got her some of the best coffee in the world. Hawaiian coffee. My kids are also out of state so we played online games together and were hooked up to voice chat all afternoon long. Mine was good but it would be great fun to have a Mother's Day like yours where everyone can get together.

Thank you, Donna. You be sure to anchor those buckets securely to something, so they don't topple under the weight of the mature plants!

Ginny, yes it was. I'm lucky all of my children live nearby.

  14. Zentmers, I found the tag for it, and it was made by Sunset Vista Designs Co., Inc. of Rancho Cucamonga, CA

Sunset Vista Designs is a wholesaler and sells only to retailers. However, our customer service department can locate a retail store near you. Simply contact us at 1-800-203-4480,

It's called a hummingbird bouncy. I found a set of three here, but it looks like they are only sold in quantity to dealers.

I'd try that toll free number to see if they're sold near you.
