August 28, 2011 - I Might Be MIA

Bought myself a new laptop this morning. I might be MIA while I transfer files, install programs and learn Windows 7!

  4. Wendy, I just bought it today. I like everything except the email. I always used Outlook Express, which isn't included in Windows 7. I tried setting up my accounts in Windows Live Mail, but the emails aren't showing up....one did, from Ginny when I first set it up, but none since. When I check the old laptop, they are there on Outlook Express. I'm tearing out my hair!

Peggy, with a new operating system, there's always a lot to learn. And with all the file transfers and program installations, I'm getting a headache!

  5. I just got a new laptop a few weeks ago and had to learn window 7 too. It was so frustrating getting the email system figured out. After that the rest went ok. Of course, I'm sure I don't use half of the features or functions available on it, but I can get email and check my blogs, so I'm happy!

  6. Langela, the email is what is giving me fits. I might keep the old laptop just for Outlook Express! Why on earth they did away with that, we'll never know. I'm using Windows Live Mail, and I seem to have two of my three accounts working now, only I'm getting two of everything! This one is so fast in comparison, and the keyboard is nice. Only problem is it has the numbers pad at the side of the keyboard, and I'm not used to that. I have to shift my hands over to the side, but I seem to be adjusting OK.
