  1. 109 on Sunday???? You cannot be serious! Looks like a long stretch of hot and dry. We've been low 90s and today is supposed to get to 95, but the cloud cover is keeping it more comfortable than expected. Awfully muggy though. I hope your garden weathers the heat!

    1. Nutmeg, TWC doesn't predict it that high, only 106, but they have the other days predicted hotter....101-106-105-101-101-97

  2. We are 106 today. But this is suppose to be the last of our 100 streak, breaking all kinds of crazy heat records!! My garden is suffering.

    1. Shawn Ann, it's been fairly cool here until recently, so I expect that heat will take a bit of a toll on my garden. Luckily much of it is shaded from the hot afternoon sun.

    1. Robin, I told you we usually get 100+ weather here in July. Last year was a freak, with not a single day in triple digits.

  4. we're just coming out of the heatwave - today was 97. This week should be in high 80's and then back to 90s. I do hope we'll get some rain as everything is very very dry.

    1. Jenny, thankfully I have irrigation water. I noticed our pressure was a bit low yesterday, so with the heat it will get more use and the pressure will go down lower. I might have to drag out multiple sprinklers where one big one covers it now.

  5. Oy, Good luck Granny! Our heat is supposed to break tomorrow, and I am not wishing it on anyone! Hopefully your heat won't be as humid as ours... ugh...

  6. It is absolutely disgust-o outside. Definitely not potato digging weather.

    1. Yeah, Kris, Mr. Granny made me come inside. He said he wasn't going to drag me out of the garden by my heels if I passed out from the heat!

  8. Today is supposed to be the last day of our heat wave. We are so excited to see only 90 tomorrow and mid to upper 80s this week. My poor vine-y things. The tomatoes are going nuts. My mother should gather quite a few while we are gone the next few days. Will you be turning on your air? Even our pool was 93 this afternoon. Not very cooling.

    1. I gave in. AC is on, set at 80F, not low enough for Mr. Granny but plenty cool for me until I start cooking dinner, then I'll turn on a fan. He'd like it set down to 70, and that's just not necessary. I think if the house is 20 degrees cooler than the outside temp, that's just plenty cool.

    1. Nah, I don't drink that nasty stuff, that's for Mr. Granny. I've got my iced tea to keep me cool.
