May 14, 2011 - Calling All Missing Bloggers

Nartaya, the Newbie Gardener, asks "Where have they gone?"

Where have those funny, intelligent bloggers gone? You know the ones I'm talking about. The ones you must read with your first morning cup of coffee. The ones you read when you want a good laugh at life. The ones you want to cry with when things just aren't quite going right for them.

I really miss Kate, from Gardening Without Skills. I want to know what Saffie is up to. I want to see Clementine's cute chicken butt. I want to see what new outfits she's made for her hens. I want to sit down with my cup of coffee and her latest blog and laugh until I pee myself, because Kate is the only one who can do that to me.

I almost cried when I removed The Caffeinated Mom Gardens from my sidebar after ten months of non-blogging. I emailed her, and she's fine. Life just got in the way. I miss her. A lot.

Momma_S at Gardening With Care. Where are you? How are you? Do you know how much you are missed? Your refrigerator looks fine, girl. Come back to us!

Now I'm sad. I miss our friends.

Is there a missing blogger in your life?

  1. I've lost a LOT of favorites over time.....and the worst part is some of it was my fault-I tried to "clean-up" my list and lost some. The way my memory is, well, let's just say that when I DO stumble across one of them-I'm like "OMG! I forgot about them!!!" and happily put them back on my list. Don't YOU ever disappear on me!!!!

  2. I recently cleaned out my feed reader. Anyone that hadn't posted since last September. I was so sad when I deleted the last two. Kate gets to stay since she has posted this year, but I do miss her laughs. I remember so long ago when I just started blogging. I'd make blogging friends and they would disappear. *sniff* I try to convince myself it isn't a bad thing. Lives get busy, but it is always so sad to see them go. Just do me a favor Granny. Promise us all you won't stop blogging. That would be just too sad.

  3. Sue. I miss Sue. She didn't blog all last year. ;(

  4. For some, I guess life gets busy and sometimes blogging can become a chore rather than a fun thing to do. I do have some bloggers that I miss catching up with. Some are still in my side bar in hopes that they begin blogging again soon.

    1. Momma S Gardening with Care
    2. Amy Tales of a Transplanted Gardener
    3. Miss M Dirt Happy and The Informal Gardener
    4. Judy Judy's Square Foot Garden Blog

I love finding "new to me bloggers" as well. Catching up with their blogs is often like discovering a new novel.

  5. I also miss reading your blog updates when you are in AZ and can't post because you have internet woes.

  6. Gran, I too, have given thought to those 3 bloggers, I still remember Momma S's fridge, and that's what I LOVE about all of us, sharing the good and bad and laughing about it, since we all have our "things", don't we? LOL - and she had some really neat ways of growing things that I miss!

  7. I agree. Amazing how quickly we become attached to our blog friends. Don't quit writing, I would be lost without your blog.

  8. There are a couple of blogs that I follow that have gone quiet lately. One is Miss M at Dirt Happy. She let us know on her February 11, 2011 post that she was not going to be posting anymore - other than a very occassional sharing of her harvest. I enjoyed her clean, well illustrated posts, and down to earth writing style. Another recent MIA is Heather from Heather's Homemaking. I am hoping life is just busy for her in real life, but she has not posted anything for about a month a half. She always has something interesting going on and I keep checking back hoping she will start posting again.

  9. Yes - what happened to Moj Vrt http://vrtlarica.blogspot.com/?

My niece has been a no show but she has her hands full with babies.

I'd be happy for you to add me to your blog list. Can't make you laugh as hard as you describe. I'm Emily (Greens and Jeans)'s mom by the way.

  10. Sue, I do that too. I also have a lot of blogs I follow that are in my reader, but not in my sidebar. I try to remember to update the sidebar occasionally, but I'm rather lax.

    ********
Daphne, I keep them in my reader, just hoping they come back, but delete from my sidebar if they don't post in months. Hey, I'm not going anywhere as long as I can still lift my fingers to type!

    ********
Ribbit, sue is still here. Look up. She's just above Daphne, who is just above you! She just changes the name of her blog every year (I lost her last year, too). I stumbled across that fact toward the end of last year when she made a comment here, and I checked out her blog. When I began reading it, I thought "that sounds like OUR Sue", so I kept reading backwards and sure enough, I'd found her again!!! She's Sue's Garden Journal in my sidebar.

    ********
Rachel, Amy and Judy are two I should have mentioned on my list (I blogged way after my bedtime last night).

    ********
Erin, I feel like many of you are my neighbors, or even family, we've been together so long! Don't you ever quit on me, missy!

    ********
Awww, thank you, Peggi! Do you have a blog to share? I keep checking your profile, and none is listed.

    ********
Kitsap, I didn't notice Heather was MIA, but I see it has been five weeks since she last blogged. Heather, come back!

    ********
Marcia, I am not familiar with Moj Vrt's blog, but I do recall reading comments from her, probably on Emily's blog. Emily's blog....why is it not in my side bar? It was there, where did it go? I read all the blogs I follow through Google Reader, so I don't always check to see that my own side bar is up to date!

Of course I'll add your blog! I'm of to visit you right now ;-)

  11. OMG!!!!!!!!!!!! Ribbit. That's ONE OF THE MISSING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
    Yea-AG-I found another missing one!
    (Cripes, my memory is SH*T!)

  12. The Veg Monkey and Mrs is one, and the Drooling Vegetable another. Yes what has happened to Mojo/Vlaritca/Ana?

    ReplyDelete
  13. Well, Sue, if nothing else my post has reunited you and Ribbit. You two should really get a room ;-)

    ********
Mal's Allotment, here's hoping someone can "find" them for you! If enough of us harp at them to blog, maybe they'll be kind enough to listen to us.

  14. David, that's true, but it still makes me sad to lose them. Fellow bloggers often become "best friends".

  15. Oh my goodness you are breaking my heart!!!

Sorry I've gone off the map... Definitey life getting the way. I'll think long and hard to see if I can come up with something interesting to write about soon - just so you all know I didn't kick the bucket or come down with a terrible case of amnesia! :-)

I know I don't comment as often as I used to, Granny, but I still read your blog every day!

  16. YAY! YAY! WE GOT A RESPONSE! Oh, Caffeinated Mom, I'm so happy to hear from you! Please come back to us (Granny begs, shamelessly).

  17. I miss Kate, as she's always been one of my favorite bloggers....
Crystabel is another that I miss seeing posts from, but i'm sure she's too busy with her workouts and stuff...

  18. I am looking forward to school being out so that I will have more time to blog and to read blogs. Not enough minutes in my day.

    ReplyDelete
  19. Debbie, you're pretty close to being one of the MIA! You need to learn to be a multi-multi-multi-tasker, LOL!

  20. Funny, I thought this post was about the Blogger issues of late. I lost a long post for 4 days before it showed up and let me post it. That's what I thought you meant. I have more to talk about so I will be posting more soon.

As for the MIA, I miss Judy a ton as she was my muse and my blog partner for a long time.

  21. LOL, just scroll down one post for the Blogger issues.

Yes, I miss Judy, too. I keep checking her page, to no avail.
