February 20, 2011 - Craptacular BOC

I got my WOOT! Bag of Crap yesterday (see January 26, 2011 - WOOT!) Nothing to write home about, but all in all worth the $3 + $5 shipping.

1. A pair of Aqua Globes. I put one in my Meyer lemon pot, and Amy wants the other one for her snake plant.

2. A darling black beaded purse. Too dressy to go with my jeans and sweatshirt, but will sure look nice when my granddaughter Alicia carries it to the prom.

3. Two screaming, flying monkeys. Annie loves them, Otto runs and hides under the bed when Mr. Granny plays with them. Yes, Mr. Granny is having fun!

4. OK, don't you dare laugh at this one.....a breast pump. Sheesh, I'm 72 years old. Maybe it could be used as a respirator in case I stop breathing? Well, my granddaughter has a pregnant friend who is planning on nursing her baby, so this will be donated to her.

5. An absolutely worthless Delphi satellite radio audio system. Just the shell, no radio, no cables, no power cord. Off to the landfill.

This was actually less crappy than my previous Bag of Crap. I'll probably try for another one when it comes up for sale.

  2. It is fun, Heidi. Sometimes people even get nice things like iPods or Roomba vacuums or stuff that actually works and is useful! It's kind of like playing the lottery. Actually the things I got were worth about $45 (the Delphi would have been worth $120 if it had been intact). Too bad there was nothing in it I really wanted :-) I was hoping for the pair of Isotoner gloves or a Skil screwdriver set that some got.

  4. What fun! Heck, it's worth the $ just for the laughs. A breast pump? Too funny! At least you know someone that can use it. It probably made their day.

  5. WOOT...what a deal!! That pump could come in handy if you get a goat to milk and the purse...hey you could be the best dressed lady picking up your poo!! I have to say that I'm with Otto...I'd run and hide from those monkeys too! What is that one monkey doing anyway???

  8. Granny - who sells this stuff? I may have to check it out.

  9. Robin, he's just "monkeying around", LOL!

    ********
Daphne, like never! They have a "Kids WOOT" a "Shirt WOOT" and a "Wine WOOT", why not a "Gardening WOOT"?

    ********
Marcia, Amazon, com sells it through their WOOT.com website. The BOC pops up unexpectedly during a "Wootoff" (fast moving sale) about once a month. Chances are slim on getting one, they are always sold out about 3-5 minutes, and there's so much traffic on their servers it's sometimes impossible to make the transaction. I was lucky twice....or maybe "lucky" isn't the right word, LOL!

  12. Ginny, Mr. Granny's response was "What the h***?"

  13. Yeah, I agree... you need to invest in a goat now that you have a breast pump. And just think, when your goat's not busy being pumped, she can be eating all the weeds in your garden! You'll have so much more time freed up because of that, you can be making your own cheese, yogurt, and buttermilk. Oh, and soap!! Awesome! Be sure to let us know how your new venture is going.

  14. Lori, you know, I always wanted a pygmy goat! Unfortunately, we're in the city and the code enforcer frowns upon livestock. I could get away with having three hens, but Mr. Granny put his foot down on that idea.

  15. How fun! You certainly had me giggling over the breast pump, but it is great that you can give it to someone who can use it. The aqua globes are useful and so are the monkeys if you want to frighten poor Otto.

  16. craptastic! i'd love some aqua globes.=)

  17. Kelli, the Aqua Globe looks like it will only water for 2-3 days. I was drenching Leona at the sink about every ten days, so I might just use the globe as a pretty, not as something terribly useful. Since the lemon tree has done so well, I kind of hate to change anything.

  19. I think the monkeys were worth it if nothing else! LOL! The breast pump had me laughing out loud. :D
