April 19, 2014 - You're Spoiling Me Rotten!

Yes, you are!

Yesterday I received another package in the mail.  It was another beautiful beanie!  This one was crocheted by Peggi.  Peggi doesn't have a blog, so I'm sorry I can't link.

Anyway, the cap is gorgeous, and a lovely shade of denim blue.  It's what I call a 24/7 cap, as it's equally comfortable as a day hat as well as a night cap.  My body gets really cold at night with my head uncovered.

I was wearing the old gray cap when I opened the package, so I immediately plopped the new one on my head.  Mr. Granny's reaction?  "That looks good!  So much better than that gray one!"  So both Peggi and Anke passed the hat test with flying colors.

Mr. Granny took a photo.  I was just going to take one of the hat, but we decided to use the more personal one, even though I'm in my pajamas and my robe is all messy.  At least the hat is pretty!

Peggi also included this lovely card, with a person message inside.

Thank you so much, Peggi!

    1. Daphne, Bigfoot Bryan is smoking a ham, and Amy is delivering our Easter dinner. Now, if I can just eat that ham. The only thing that doesn't make me feel nauseous so far is lemonade :-(

    2. I hope you can eat something. Maybe some chocolate eggs? At the very least, you will have your family there. I keep thinking that you live in Washington. There is that new legal drug that some people say kills the nausea. I could just see you rolling your own Granny.

    3. Daphne, I do live in WA. The first line in my profile is "Eastern Washington, United States", LOL!

I ate a small piece of ham, couldn't tolerate the scalloped potatoes, but ate all of my mixed veggies. It isn't a matter of taste, but a matter of texture. Amy bought me some Boost, and couldn't understand why I can't drink it. So I made her swallow a big gulp of it. Now she knows. I have a big bowl of freshly picked garden greens, so I'm hoping the texture is good for me.

    4. Oh, Daphne, I almost missed your comment about "There is that new legal drug that some people say kills the nausea."

My ex-daughter-in-law came over yesterday with a bag of cookies. She insisted 1/2 cookie, dipped in milk, would make me ravenous in just minutes. So I did just that. It was the worst thing I've ever eaten! A dry peanut butter cookie that tasted like it had mint in it. Nasty flavor, nastier texture. I forced it down though. Didn't feel any hungrier, maybe a bit sleepier. These were from a commercial, licensed weed bakery, and cost was $3 per cookie. My youngest son has a medical marijuana permit, which allows him to grow 15 plants. His need is from his years (30) as a Type I diabetic and an extremely painful ocular nerve. I'm sure he'd share with Mama, but I hope he never has to. If the time does come that I really need it though, I don't think I'd say no.

  3. So glad you like the hat and glad it fits. I helps to have a friend with a small head to do the fitting. If i would have sent it made according to the original pattern it would have been to big.

You really do make it look good.

Hope you have a great week.
