April 26, 2014 - Good Morning, but it really isn't.

Hang in there, because I'm having some really big problems even running the computer this morning. I'll have Amy post the rest of this blog entry for me to try to explain....

This is Amy.

Granny's just not able to make things work this morning. A couple of days ago she took a pretty big spill and landed right on the back of her head. Since then she has had trouble keeping her train of thought, and making her fingers type what her brain wants them to. She has a doctor appointment on Monday to see where we go from here, however, up to now, the doctor has done absolutely nothing, and has yet to even start the chemo. For now, I will be her fingers, and I will post for her as needed. She still looks forward to reading those comments, so keep 'em coming!

  3. Hi Amy; Please tell Granny we are still thinking of her, and wishing her well. I hope the fall doesn't turn out to be a major setback. I also hope the doctor "gets his finger out!"

  4. Did not realize the chemo hadn't been started. Praying for you that this is just temporary and will be cleared up fast. (hugs)

And thanks for being her fingers, Amy! Can't even express how grateful I am!

  7. I hope you get better Granny. Living without the computer is so hard. And the only time I've had to do it was when my computer died. I think we have all become addicted to it.

  9. Carol and Amy,
I am so sorry to hear this. You hang in there; know that my wife and I are joining many others in praying for you. Doctors can be frustrating. We'll pray that solutions are found and implemented.

  12. Oh no sweet Granny! Amy, you are awesome to help her through this. And do we need to track that doctor down and tell him to get a move on things? Cause you know we will! We luv you!!!

I got my squash bed planted today and the tomatoes are doing great. I'll have a post about it Monday.

  13. Tell Granny that I have planted two tomatoes and that I think about her every time I walk by them. I was too early planting them outside, and of course we had a cold snap. So, I dug them up and brought them inside for two nights. They're back in the sunshine now and seem none the worse for wear. I'm thinking about you often and hoping the best for you.

  16. You hang in there Granny! The affects of the whole brain radiation will wear off. "The Italian" had difficulties when he had it. Then they went away. That doctor better get it together! From our experience, you (or your family) need to do a lot of research on you type of cancer. Then discuss things with your oncologist. If he doesn't listen, then find a new one! If we had listened to the first one, "The Italian" would have only been with us for 6 months.....not 4 years! Luv you!

  25. so sad, but so happy to see the support and love of your family--the "regular" kind, and your blog family. thinking of you as i plant this spring.

  26. I suppose I have to keep my snarky comments to myself now that Amy's sweetly helping you.

I'm shocked the doctor hasn't started chemo yet. Has he said why he's waiting? If you don't get the answers that satisfy you and your family, I'd be looking elsewhere very quickly. Dad just had to switch doctors because his wasn't listening to him about issues with his chemo. He doesn't have a lot of choices since he's a veteran. Hopefully your family can do better for you than our government is able to do for my dad!

Thank Amy for keeping us informed. I do hope your mind comes back...although chickens without their heads can be entertaining. :) Love you!
