April 9, 2014 - Sweets From the Sweet

Look at what arrived at my door yesterday!

My dear Blogger friend, Angie, from The Novice Gardener, was aware that I'd lost some of my sense of taste after my recent radiation treatments, but that one thing I could taste was CHOCOLATE!  So she sent me chocolates.  Oh, my, did she send me chocolates!  A lovely tower of chocolates from Harry and David.

Yes, I have taste tested nearly every box of lusciousness.  I'm not letting anyone else (that means you, Mr. Granny) even have one bite, because they are mine, mine, mine!

Would you share these?  I thought not.  And no way am I sharing my favorites, the chocolate covered dried cherries!  I can't keep my fingers off of those, LOL!

Once the boxes are empty, I'm going to leave them stacked right there on the old sewing machine that belonged to Mr. Granny's mother.  I think they look right at home.

And cheers back atcha, Mrs. R.  That was a sweet and thoughtful gift, and I'm going to enjoy every last bite.

  2. What a very sweet thing for Angie to do! Kudos to her. I don't know what I'd do if I couldn't taste chocolate. I'm so glad you still can.

  3. I would be saying the same thing if someone gave me chocolates! My mom loves to hide her favorite truffles and they only appear if SHE feels like sharing! My doctor recently told me to indulge in chocolate! I guess because I have eliminated so many things from my diet to control the MS. I told her that was one thing I would do (along with the daily walk, vit b, and yoga!)

  5. Mm Chocolate cherries. With the liquor.....Or life can pretty much be a box of chocolates (with a nice rum and coke, staring out from the porch at the world passing by) :)

  6. Yum chocolate. I can't wait to eat that again. But I'm staying away from the chocolate covered cherries. Yick! I've never liked those. Unless of course they are the chocolate covered dried montmorency cherries. I usually hate cherries, but for some reason I like those dried. And I wouldn't share either. Well maybe a little. My daughter can give me those sad eyes. Then I have to share. I bet your grandkids could do that to you and steal your cherries with a look.
